The Journey

The Journey Begins

On my life's journey, I look back on my path and have noticed the seed planted deep within that explains my passion to help others, and that has grown to help shape my character to the person I am today.

My passion to help others grew shortly after high school when I volunteered as a mentor for youth. By guiding youth through many of life's issues, I was able to lead them to find their own personal successes.  As a result of my growth, I continued my journey by pursuing my undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation.  As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, I lead adaptive sports programs that helped a variety of people, from all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to find their true potential. Once graduated, I continued my journey as a youth mentor in the capacity of an Outdoor Backpacking Guide.  I led youth through the wilderness, through week-long adventures, and helped build self-confidence and independence. Through my experiences, I decided to pursue a career in Counseling and began the Counseling and Human Services graduate program at the University of Colorado -Colorado Springs (UCCS).

In the spring of 2013, I earned a graduate degree from UCCS and began work through a number of different settings including residential, wilderness, and private practice.  Since that time, the seed has sprouted and yielded a wealth of experience, knowledge, and insight in qualitative care.

In the spring of 2017, Grand Valley Holistic Counseling was established through a desire to help the Grand Valley through a holistic and evidence based approach.

My promise is to help you find healing, self-acceptance, and the ability to live the fruitful life you deserve.
